“You’re pregnant!”
You can use any of the following methods to take a pregnancy test.
Home pregnancy test(HPT): It is the most popular way of testing pregnancy due to its easy to understand and easy to use features. It tests pregnancy by checking the hormone human chorionic gonadotropin(hCG), which is only found in the body during pregnancy, in your urine. It presents results by changing color in its stick. Normally, you have to wait about 10 minutes to show its result.
Clinical Urine Test: This test is, normally, useful to eliminate any or some mistakes that may have been committed while testing through HPT. To test the pregnancy, you will have to visit a doctor and get the result.
Blood Test: This test tests pregnancy by checking the amount ( Both qualitative and quantitative) of hCG in the blood. To test, you will have to visit a doctor.
The test shows positive, now what?
Next thing to do is test again(One or two times more to find, if you are really pregnant.)
The further process depends upon you i.e. was pregnancy planned or not?
If the pregnancy was not planned, it can be overwhelming, especially during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, so, if you are not sure whether you want the baby or not, consult with a doctor for the proper way of ending the pregnancy.
But, if your pregnancy was planned, you should consult with a doctor/gynecologist before your 8 weeks mark to know about prenatal care, due date, etc.
