When should you get this Vaccine?
CDC recommends 11–12 years as an ideal time to get vaccinated. However, it can be started at 9 years of age. Anyone over 45 years old is not recommended to get this vaccine.
Who should get this Vaccine?
- Children above 9 years of age.
- Adults below 26 years of age.
- Adults aged 27–45 who have not been vaccinated before can discuss this with their doctor before getting the HPV vaccine.
How many doses of the HPV Vaccine should one get?
- 2 doses of HPV vaccine before the age of 15 years. (6 to 12 months apart).
- 3 doses of the HPV vaccine after the age of 15 years. (0, 1, 6 months apart).
- 3 doses of the HPV vaccine for children aged 9–14 years who have received two doses of HPV vaccine less than 5 months apart.
- 3 doses of HPV vaccine are recommended for people aged 9–26 years, in cases of weakened immune system.
- 3 doses of HPV vaccine for people aged 27–45 who have not been vaccinated after doctor consultation.
Who shouldn’t get this Vaccine?
- Pregnant woman.
- Anyone having an allergic reaction to components of the HPV vaccine or the first dose of the HPV vaccine.
- Anyone having an allergy to yeast.
- Anyone who has a moderate-to-severe illness at the time of vaccination.
