What are Imaging Tests?
Imaging refers to the process of generating visual illustrations of the internal organs or tissues of our body that are hidden inside the skin and bones for clinical diagnosis and medical intervention, as well as to diagnose diseases. Our Imaging center consists of trained specialists and the equipment needed for performing the tests.
The primary purpose of medical imaging is to examine the patient’s current health condition, identify the causes of the disease, investigate the existing symptoms, or to pin down a diagnosis.
Clinic one uses several kinds of imaging equipment depending upon the patient’s needs. The following are the core imaging services provided by Clinic One.
Endoscopy
Endoscopy is an examination done by a professional health care provider by inserting a special flexible tube/probe with a light and a camera attached, to view the internal organs of the body in a color monitor.
Generally, endoscopy helps in the examination of the internal organs without having to cut large incisions, but sometimes incisions are necessary.
Colonoscopy
Colonoscopy is an examination performed by professional health care providers (doctors) using a special flexible tube with a camera attached to the end to check/examine the large intestine (colon and rectum(ending part of the intestine that stops at the anus)).
X-Ray
X-ray is the oldest and most commonly used form of digital medical imaging which is performed by passing a certain amount of radiation through the human body to form images. It is mostly used to examine the skeletal system and to detect diseases at their primary stage, thus improving the chances of fast recovery.
At Clinic One, no appointments are necessary for X-rays. We advise you to have a written prescription from a physician or a specialist. X-ray services are available every day from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on weekdays & 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturdays. The X-ray film is generated within five minutes and the reporting is done by a radiologist.
Note: Clinic One has been operating X-ray services after approval from the Department of Health Services / District Public Health Office. We have also been approved by NAST (Nepal Academy of Science and Technology) which is the authorized body that is responsible for checking the quality of infrastructure, risk assessment, and preventing unnecessary hazards. Therefore, Clinic One has been operating X-ray services in a secured Radiation Shielded room.
Although the government’s requirement is of 0.75 mm thick lead shield in X-ray rooms, our clinic has a 1.55 mm thick lead shield that protects more from radiation.
X-Ray machine Details
We use a 600 MA Siemens X-ray machine (German) having a higher frequency. We have digital radiography to provide a clear and prompt X-ray film.
ECG
ECG stands for electrocardiography performed to measure the electrical activity and the rhythm of the human heart to determine whether it is working normally or not. It is performed on those patients who have symptoms of heart diseases such as palpitations, chest pain, shortness of breath, and also for a routine investigation.
ECG Machine Details
Clinic one uses 12 lead ECG machine.
ECG Timing
Every day from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM & Saturday 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM
ECHO
Echo or echocardiography is a test performed to check for the problems in your heart by using high-frequency sound waves to create an image of the heart. Some of the problems that can be detected through an Echocardiogram are clogged arteries, problems in the chambers and the valves, and other congenital heart diseases.

ULTRASOUND

It is a safer technique than an X-ray and CT scan as it doesn’t use any radiation for the test. Doctors and professionals use ultrasound to measure the blood flow in the arteries to detect blockages and check for problems in internal organs such as the liver, kidney, gall bladder, and the heart.
